News Today, 24 September 2020 : Deepika Padukone and Sara Ali Khan have left for Mumbai from Goa. While it is not clear whether Deepika will be taking a flight from Goa or travelling to Mumbai by road, Sara Ali Khan was snapped at the Departure gate at the Goa airport on Thursday afternoon. Deepika Padukone was in Goa to shooting for an upcoming film by director Shakun Batra. The two actresses have been summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with the drug probe being carried out by the agency. The NCB is probing the drug angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
At 3:24 pm, As per sources, Deepika Padukone has accepted the summons issued by the Narcotics Department Bureau (NCB) and has agreed to join the probe. The actress will be questioned by the NCB tomorrow.
At 3:10 pm, Deepika Padukone has still not reached the Goa airport. It is likely that the actress is headed to Mumbai via road. As per reports, the actress’s chartered flight has been cancelled.
At 2:25 pm, Fashion designer Simone Khambatta leaves from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office in Mumbai. She was grilled by the NCB for four hours.
At 2 pm, Sara Ali Khan was at the Goa airport security check along with mother Amrita Singh and brother Ibrahim. The family will be flying to Mumbai on a commercial airline.
At 1.45 pm, Deepika left her Goa hotel. It is not clear whether she will be flying to Mumbai on a chartered flight, or driving down to Mumbai from Goa, or if she will board a flight from another airport.
Rakul Preet’s manager today morning released a statement on behalf of the actress and said that she has not received any summons yet.
However, senior NCB official KPS Malhotra said, “Her summons were issued and she was contacted through various platforms including the phone no available. There has been no response so far from her.”
NCB sources added, “It’s just an excuse… She will not join probe today.”
Meanwhile, designer Simone Khambatta has reached the NCB office for questioning.
The NCB has also summoned director Kshitij Prasad for questioning tomorrow. The filmmaker is associated with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. He was summoned for today but as he is in Delhi, the director will be joining the probe tomorrow at 11 am.
The NCB have found out that around 50 names, including many actors, actresses, producers and directors, might be involved in the Bollywood drug controversy. A Bollywood actor, who hosts drug parties, is also under the NCB’s radar.
Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have also been summoned by the NCB. The agency have also called in Deepika’s manager Karishma, designer Simone Khambatta, and Sushant Singh Rajput’s manager Shruti Modi for questioning.
Shruti Modi, Simone Khambatta and Rakul Preet have been summoned for questioning by the NCB today (September 24). Deepika Padukone will be called for questioning on September 25 (Friday). Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor, on the other hand, have been summoned on September 26 (Saturday).
Rhea, in her statement to the NCB, had confessed that she would party with Sara, Shraddha, Rakul and Sushant at the actor’s Lonavala farmhouse. Earlier, India Today had revealed that a boatman told the NCB that late actor Sushant Singh Rajput used to party at his Lonavala farmhouse. In his statement to the NCB, the boatman, Jagdish Das, had claimed that the farmhouse was a party destination for Sushant, his core team, and Bollywood friends like Rhea, Sara, Shraddha, and arrested drug-peddling suspect Zaid Vilatra, among others. The boatman also alleged that ganja and liquor were common in their island parties.
Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the NCB on September 8. The NCB asked for a 14-day judicial custody of her till September 22. Rhea and her brother Showik’s bail plea was to be heard at the Bombay High Court on Wednesday, but was delayed due to heavy rain in the city. The bail pleas will be heard today (September 24). As of now, both Rhea and Showik’s judicial custody has been extended till October 6.
Deepika Padukone was shooting for Shakun Batra’s upcoming film in Goa. Sources claim that Karishma Prakash, whose old drug chats with the actress were recovered by the NCB, is also in Goa.
