Bhawanipatna,News Today,18th December 2020: Malkangiri Sadar DSP Akhay Nayak has been arrested on charges of forcing a lady constable to have physical relation with him, police said on Friday.The official used to blackmail the lady subordinate to have extramarital affair with him, said police. Akhay, during his posting as Kesinga SDPO, had developed an extramarital affair with the lady constable following which the woman had divorced her husband.
According to the complainant, they had married secretly in temple and used to live as husband-wife.However, the official distanced himself from the lady subordinate after his transfer from Kesinga and blackmailed her to have sexual relation with him.
Kalahandi SP Battula Gangadhar launched a probe and arrested the senior officer after the lady filed a complaint of sexual harassment.
