Bhubaneswar, News Today , 26 September : The Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) has decided to introduce the services of MoBus from the capital city to Odisha’s tourist corridors Puri and Konark on World Tourism Day, i.e. September 27 (tomorrow).
The public transport service in MoBus to Puri and Konark will commence in two routes – Route 50 would connect Master Canteen in Bhubaneswar to the abode of Lord Jagannath in Puri, while Route 70 will connect Bhubaneswar railway station to the Sun Temple City. CRUT MD Arun Bothra informed that only one bus will ply on each route on the day of inauguration, and from September 28 (Monday) onwards each route will have two buses, which means commencement of regular services would ensure passengers are facilitated with two Non-AC buses on both routes four times in a day.The maximum fare for Route 50 and 70 will be Rs 70 and Rs 60, respectively; plus QR code payment option is also made available.The first bus to Puri will depart from Bhubaneswar Railway Station at 6:30 am and the last bus will be available at 6:50 pm. Similarly, the first bus from Puri will leave at 8:20 am and the last bus will leave at 9 pm.
As far as journey to Konark is concerned, the first bus will depart from Bhubaneswar Railway Station at 6:40 am and the last bus will be available at 6:40 pm. The first bus from Konark will leave at 8:30 am while the last bus will depart at 9 pm. In June this year, CRUT had extended ‘Mo Bus’ service to Pipili town in Puri district. The route No. 33 connects Bhubaneswar Railway Station to the applique town, covering a total stretch of 24.8 kms.
Keeping in view the Covid guidelines, the buses will run with following stipulations:
-Wearing of masks compulsory for passengers and staff
-NO standing passenger inside the bus
-Passengers should carry sanitisers
-Passengers to be encouraged to make online payments
-Disinfection of buses on a daily basis.
