Bhubaneswar,News Today, Sep 26: Ahead of the Monsoon session of the Odisha State Assembly scheduled to begin from September 29, all MLAs and staff will have to undergo COVID-19 test at a special camp in the Odisha Legislative Assembly (OLA) premises from today.
Around 950 including MLAs and staff will be tested for the deadly coronavirus, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Choudhary.
While First-day testing will be in two-shifts, and for the next two days, testing will be done in the first half only.
The process will be undertaken in adherence to the COVID-19 health protocol and if somebody tests positive, they can go for home isolation. Meanwhile, those who test positive and show symptoms will be shift to COVID-19 hospital.
On Friday, Odisha Assembly Speaker Dr Surjya Narayan Patro chaired an all-party meeting to discuss the issues related to the forthcoming session amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier, Odisha Additional Chief Secretary PK Mohapatra had written to the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Odisha State Medical Corporation Limited (OSMCL) Managing Director and Capital Hospital Director to provide all facilities before the commencement of the 4th session of the 16th Odisha Legislative Assembly (OLA) from September 29.
